Learning the skills to cook anything confidently can be extremely daunting and even fearful. Over five weeks, Turner Farm's Teaching Kitchen will host culinary competency classes using as much farm fresh produce as possible.
The first week will cover Knife Skills: including how to hold a knife, choose/purchase a knife, care for and sharpen your knife, as well as primary knife cuts to create a few dishes to be eaten at the end of the class.Find out more »
Calling all chefs-in-training, or simply those teens who want to learn to become more confident in the kitchen. Over five weeks, allow chef Stephanie to highlight how to become more organized, confident, creative, and successful while cooking in the Turner Farm Teaching Kitchen. Topics will include knife skills, soups, fresh pasta making, culinary techniques to make quick and healthy meals, snacks, as well as desserts. Each kitchen class will end with a shared meal created over the class period. The final class will culminate with a celebratory meal created by the students, highlighting the culinary methods learned throughout the series. This class will be limited to a small group of individuals for as much hands-on time and personalized culinary instruction as possible. (open to ages 12-17)
