Strawberry Sauce

Ingredient                             Amount

Strawberries, finely chopped  4 cups

Sugar                                       ¾ cup

Lemon juice                            1 ½ Tbsp

Vanilla Extract                                    1 tsp

Salt                                          pinch

Method:

  1. Combine the strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, salt, and 2 tablespoons water in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the berries break down and become tender, about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in the vanilla.
  2. Run/push through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl, pressing against the solids; let cool completely. To store, cover and refrigerate up to 4 days.
