Charlotte Piszel
Community Garden Program Manager
Charlotte grew up in Cleveland, Ohio where she gardened with her mother and developed a love for the outdoors and natural world. After graduating from Miami University with a B.S in Geology and Sustainability in 2024, she was looking for a career that encompassed all of her passions: the outdoors, soil science, working with her hands, and good food!
As a quasi-honeymoon, she and her husband set out on a 6-month road trip with the purpose of learning more about sustainable agriculture. While working on a pecan orchard outside of Austin, she learned of Turner Farm’s Organic Farming Internship Program and knew she wanted to apply. After applying and being accepted, she and her husband continued their whirlwind of traveling and working on different farms and then in May of 2025 Charlotte joined the Turner Farm internship crew.
While interning here, she knew she wanted to stay a part of the Turner Farm family, so when the position of Garden Manager with the Community Garden Program became available to her, she transitioned from her internship to the full-time staff position in the Community Garden Program. Outside of work, you can find Charlotte at the climbing gym, hiking, making art or trying new restaurants.
