Pasture & Woodland Raised Pork
Our goal is to purchase 8–12 week old feeder pigs from local breeders who raise a variety of heritage and production hog breeds known for hardiness, and quality meat characteristics. By sourcing locally, we’re able to support other small farms while selecting pigs that are already well adapted to our climate and outdoor production system.
We raise our hogs entirely outdoors, rotating them through wooded and grassy paddocks where they can root, forage, romp in the sunshine, and express their natural behaviors the way pigs were intended to. Their environment is constantly changing, which helps promote healthier soil, reduces pressure on the land, and keeps the pigs active and engaged. They always have access to fresh water, shade from the summer heat, and wallows where they can cool off naturally and protect their skin from the sun and insects.
The bulk of their diet consists of locally grown, freshly ground non-GMO grain sourced from Bethel Feed & Supply, supplemented by the grasses, roots, acorns, garden scraps and forage they naturally encounter while rotating through pasture and woodland. This combination of responsible feeding, outdoor living, and low-stress handling allows us to raise hogs in a way that prioritizes both animal welfare and quality.
