Cook, Learn, and Live Longer—Inspired by the World’s Healthiest Communities
In Collaboration with UC Osher Center for Integrative Medicine
Join us in the Barn Studio for an immersive evening inspired by the principles of the Blue Zones—regions of the world where people live the longest, healthiest lives. These communities share common lifestyle habits rooted in whole foods, connection, and intentional living.
Led by Nurse Practitioner Dr. Jinda Bowerman, this experience combines science-backed education with hands-on culinary practice, bringing the philosophy of “food as medicine” to life in an approachable and engaging way.
Together, we’ll explore how simple, sustainable shifts—such as incorporating more plant-based meals, legumes, whole grains, and fermented foods—can support longevity, cognitive health, and overall well-being.
Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed with a thoughtfully prepared hors d’oeuvre before the class begins. Guests will then step into the kitchen alongside Chef Blake Larson to prepare a nourishing, Blue Zones-inspired dish. Following the cooking experience, everyone will sit down together to enjoy the meal they have created, paired with Cannonau wine—a traditional Sardinian wine made from Grenache grapes, known for its high levels of antioxidants.
Featured Menu:
Tempeh Grain Bowls with Seasonal Vegetables & Farm Ferments
