Zach Burk

Flower Department Manager

Zach is a flower grower and adult educator born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Growing up in the high desert, he dreamed of a place where things could truly grow. His early path led him to fine art and design, earning a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design. Over the next decade, Zach worked as a preparator in galleries and museums, handling significant works by renowned artists, including Fulbright scholars and MacArthur fellows. Allowing a return to his own creative practice, he left the gallery world. He then managed an antique jewelry store, where his background in design and art history guided the buying and selling of rare, historically significant pieces.

Throughout his career in the arts, Zach felt a persistent pull toward the outdoors and a lifelong fascination with plants and cultivation. In 2022, when the jewelry store he had managed for 13 years closed, he and his husband embraced the moment as an opportunity for change and relocated to Cincinnati. There, Zach found his way to Turner Farm, where he has been growing flowers since the summer of 2023. His work is driven by a deep enthusiasm for plant diversity and floriculture, rooted in a broader commitment to ecological restoration and environmental justice.
