Grass Fed Sheep

Our flock is made up of Katahdin hair sheep, a hardy and low maintenance breed exceptionally well suited to our climate and regenerative grazing system. Unlike traditional wool breeds, Katahdins grow a hair coat instead of heavy wool, meaning they naturally shed their thick winter coat each spring and require no shearing. Their sleek summer coat helps them handle heat and humidity comfortably, while their dense winter covering provides excellent protection during cold weather.

Katahdins are widely recognized for their calm temperament, strong maternal instincts, easy lambing, and natural parasite resistance, making them one of the most practical and resilient pasture based sheep breeds available. They thrive on forage and are excellent grazers, efficiently converting grasses, legumes, and browse into quality meat while helping improve pasture health through rotational grazing management. Their hardiness, adaptability, and efficient feed conversion make them an ideal fit for our regenerative based system.
